Shipping from Seattle to Russia -YES !
It looks like there is a way to ship your bike from the west coast of the U.S. to Russia after all. I just got done talking to Mike at Fesco Shipping. They are based in Vladivostok, but they have offices all over. Mike is in Seattle. The deal is that they will ship a 20 foot container from Seattle to Magadan or Vladivostok for US$1,850. You would have to crate the bikes in advance-and there is a small fee for them to be loaded by whoever into the container.
You could fit quite a few bikes in a container, so the more people there are that want to go the cheaper it is per bike. So what do you say? Who wants to go to Russia from Seattle next spring. Sign me up for one- but don't make me pay for this all by myself!!!

We also have a very active forum for 'Travellers Seeking Travellers'. Suggest you post your news there. I'm sure there'll be others interested in that trip next spring. There's also plenty of other information to help you plan your trip, on the HUBB, on the site and in the e-zine, including reports from travellers who have crossed Russia this summer.
