Shipping from Panama to USA
 

Hi there,

I'm planning a trip from NYC to Panama and I was wondering if anybody has any information on shipping the bike back to the States. Either by air or ship, companies, costs etc.

Hi Vinny,

Can't give specifics at this point, but you shouldn't have a lot of trouble shipping the bike out. I would strongly recommend by air, sea is a lot less reliable in this part of the world. Expect about US$500-800 depending on how much of the paperwork you deal with yourself and how good a deal you can get.

Note that the US carriers generally won't fly a bike anymore, so you'll end up with a local air-freight company. I believe Challenge Air, based in Bogota, flies to Panama and definitely USA. They are very good and don't require a crate, just load the bike on a pallet.
