Singapore to Europe

Hello,

I logged in to the HUBB and saw that I signed up for the forum back in 2007, that's how long my trip is postponed.

A little introduction:
My name is Tim, coming from the Netherlands. Went on a working Holiday to New Zealand in 2006, thought it was a good idea to ship my Moto Guzzi NTX650 to NZ, drive it around the islands, ship it to Australia and then ride it back to Europe.
Halfway through my working holiday, my dad passed away and I had to return home instantly. Years went by but the dream kept me awake.
Just did half a year working in Sydney, and now back in NZ, where I left the bike. Spend two weeks in the garage of a friend to get it going again and it's ready for a wander around the islands.

Having said that and being ready for that trip, I can start planning on the bigger journey, riding it home and that's why I'm here.

Global plan:
In New Zealand until July. Shipping the bike to wherever (aiming for Singapore now).
From Singapore to Malaysia - Thailand - Laos - Nepal - India - Pakistan - Iran - Turkey - Europe.

Problem one: I have to get back to Australia and stay there until the end of August.
Shipping companies recommendations from NZ to Singapore are very welcome.

I can ship the bike from NZ to Singapore in July, but the shipping may only take one month (not sure), meaning the bike will arrive while I'm not there.
So it will be at some wharf in Singapore for a while (I guess that will cost a lot?).

I've searched for topics about this route I'm taking to read more about visa's, borders and the such, but could not find what I'm looking for.
Does anyone know of anyone that did this trip? Would be great to get in contact.

Thanks for advance for reading this post!

Tim

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
