Hi,

I`m currently in Guatemala on what was a trip from Alaska to Argentina. Unfortunately, it looks like I will not be able to continue and might have to fly back home fro Panama. Has anyone any information on flying a bike back to the U.K. from Panama? Any contacts, freight companies I could check out, likely costs? Any info w9uld be much appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry to hear that your trip will end in Panama. We met in Oregon in July and your only down to Guatemala, looks like you were moving slowly and enjoying yourself!
How did the Dakar work out for you? Any water pump issues? I am on my 4th in 50000 kms!

Thanks "Lonesome" I`ve dropped him a e mail!

Hi Cal, Yes, I did end up slowing down considerably (I needed to) in fact I`ve been off the bike in Antigua for nearly 5 weeks - mostly for physiotherapy treatment trying to rehab my back, sadly it won`t be enough which is why my "journey for hope" is almost over. The bike has been mainly fine.

Motivator,

Sorry to hear about your problems (just had a look at your blog). We'v enver met but I've been on the road behind you for a couple of months and I've me up with people who've met you.

Stay positive. Remember the trip will always wait. South America will always be there. Go home - get better and plan the next adventure. I know it's easy to say and hard to do but take all the positives from this trip and look to the future.

be safe

dom

Thanks Dom, I appreciate your words, but from the prognosis it looks like South America may never happen. Apparently my back will never be in a good enough condition to take the punishment of the SA roads, so from now on it`s paved roads all the way for me. Such is life, but at least I gave it a go. Checked out your blog too. Hope you go all the way and have a ball doing it. Stay safe.

hey - don't give up. You can ride around S.A. on paved roads all the way.

But first things first. Get yourself better.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
