Shipping from Iran?

Hello there,

I haven't started my trip yet but I'm considering all possibilities. My goal is driving from Spain to Malaysia but Pakistan seems a bit of a problem. The Maynmar part I have already covered shipping the bike from Nepal but now I was thinking of shipping from Iran to Thailand or similar.

Anyone has shipped the bike out of Iran? Any tips?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, my spanish (?) isn't so fresh anymore but I'm very interested to find out which company you used and what your experience was.
I'm going the opposite way; from Mumbai to Iran, and your information could be very valuable!

Thanks!

Hello Geertb,

Sorry we didn´t answer before because we don´t receive any notification by mail from the Hubb.

We send the bike from Tehran to Mumbai by plane with Iran Air Company. The motorcycle was in the same comercial flight that we took. We didn't need the wood box, we fit the bike in two pallets. If you want the wood box, the iranian people told us a price about 300$.

We couldn´t find the Iran Air company in internet, we had to go directly to the airport to talk with the cargo company. But it´s possible that they have an office in Mumbai.

I don´t remember well but I think that here are two flights a week from Tehran to Mumbai. 4 hours of fly.

We paid 550$ to shipping the bike. But we had to fight hard with the airport employers because they wanted more money for each process. It was three days to shipping the bike. One day only for stamp the CPD... It´s difficult to do this step because nobody speak english and you need the help from local people that are looking easy money.

I hope that this information help you. We are in contact if you need more details.

If somebody need more information, send us a mail to: desdelamoto@gmail.com. We check this mail account every day.
