Shipping info required for UK to Alaska

I will be riding from Alaska to Chile next year leaving the UK in May. Can anyone recommend a shipping agent to get the bike from the UK to Anchorage? I am considering air freight and shipping by sea. I have checked the site but can't find anything specific to this query. Thanks in advance. Lois, London UK.

Although we have no reports from travellers shipping from London to Anchorage specifically, we do have quite a lot of info on the shipping process itself, and also contact details for UK based companies.

i too am planning air freighting a bike to anchorage in june. i am about to start dredging for info. will keep you posted on what i find. if you have any good contacts i would appreciate them also.

Hi Oz,
I have now had quotes from about 10 different shipping companies, both in the USA and England and for air and sea. I am probably going to go with Frontier Forwarding who are in Ashford, Middlesex. The price is good and they seem very to know what they're doing and have experience with shipping bikes. Their website is www.frontierforwarding.co.uk

What are your plans when you get over there? I am planning on riding to Argentina.

plans at the moment are to ride to patagonia, then return to the uk. still planning where my route will take me and what i intend to do. couldnt pass up oportunities to surf with all those miles of pacific coastline!reckoning on the time away from the uk to be about 14 months. only thing for sure at the mo is that i want to arrive in anchorage for the end of june and ride to prudhoe bay then make my way through western canada poss looking at the yukon on route.
