shipping from Dakar to EU

Hi everybody,
my wife and I are planning a round trip in West africa for end 2006 and we would love to receive pratical info about shipping our bikes back from Senegal to EU (a 2 GS). Until now we have travelled intensively Morokko, but this time we have plenty of time to go south !!!
Btw our advise to go to Morokko: we took our both bike on trailer down to almeria, left car en trailer in an hotel parking (ask for the adress) and then took the day ferry in Almerai to Nador. You are right on the spot to discover Atlas and SE Morokko.

Norbert and Francoise from Belgium

Hi Both

Grimaldi Freightercruises call at Dakar on their way back from S. America. Rotterdam & Hamburg after Tilbury, I believe. I found them very good both to deal with and to travel with.

Regards, Mick

Why not ship out of Banjul in Gambia instead? Just a few hours away from Dakar

My bike arrives next week. Shipped it out with GAMSHIP (wich aso is the Royal Danish Consulate). Cost me 600 Euro

They ship to either Felixstove, UK or Hamburg, Germany. Felixstove is the fastest by far, and not to far away from Begium either. Approx 400km. A nice days ride.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
