Shipping From Alaska

I intend to ship my motorcycle from Alaska to Australia September 2002. Has anybody had any experience of using/recommend a shipping agent in Anchorage.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ant

Starting points, if you haven't already got some:

I suspect you will have to ship from Alaska to Seattle or possibly southern California. Then you can send to Australia. Possibilities here include a company called Direct Express, in Gardena, California, which specializes in car-shipment:

Allow at least 8-10 weeks to get the bike to Australia.

Depending on how long you plan to stay in Australia, you might consider buying a bike there and selling it at the end of your trip, rather than pay for shipment in both directions.
