Shipping England to Australia

Hi,
Firstly we're new to all this so please forgive is!

Our idea is to do a tour of Europe and then fly our bikes to Australia, i've tried contacting some firms given in one section of the forum but was wondering if anybody had any other companies they could recommend aswell as any tips.

Any help would be great and thanks in advance.

Cheers
Stu & Coll

I just arranged it myself through a airline company of my choice.

Here is a link to help you out in the importing side of things into Australia

- a hint here - make sure your bike is so clean you can eat off it! Australia is very fussy.

Hi Max,
Yaeh i heard they were strict on the cleaning side of things, being as you've just done it can i be cheeky and ask who you used to arrange it all, what airline and how much did it cost. Basically tell me exactly how you did it cause i seem to be going round in circles!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Hi, I have just been getting some quotes for the same, and also to Malaysia.

The most helpful and competetive people so far are a company called Cutler Freight.
Contact ; nigel@cutlerfreight.co.uk

If you crate your own bike a it will save money, but if you use wood it has to be specially treated. I am using a crate frame that i persuaded my local dealer to part with, they are the ones that have new bikes delivered in, then i will heat shrink wrap.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Tim....

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
