Shipping bike from Vancouver CA to Sydney AU

My trip is entering its final stages as I prepare to make the push north to Alaska from Vancouver and I'm starting to look at my options for returning home to Australia afterwards.

I'm considering shipping my bike back to Australia from Vancouver as I have family on Vancouver Island and I figure it'd be easier and cheaper to find shipping to Sydney ex Vancouver or even ex Seattle than say ex Anchorage.

Anyone done this before and/or know of a freight forwarder who can help me out at a reasonable price? Also any bike dealers out there who can hook me up with an old crate to pack the bike into?

Thanks in advance!

Shipping to Australia from Vancouver

Hi there, we are in Smithers BC with Ken &Carol Duval. They know of Glen Cochrane from the Brisbane HU community did I this some time ago. He might beable to give you some pointers. I am stranded here with a broken rear shock and waiting for another Ohlins. Are you heading our way? We hope to be mobile by Monday and continue North. The Ohlins nearly killed us snapping off the shaft and locking up the rear. Very lucky and not happy with Ohlins at the moment.

Ther e are a few Aussies up here now so we might be able to get more info on shipping out of Canada. Have made some contacts on Vancouver island who may be able to find a crate for you.
Contact us if you want more info.

ooh bugga! that doesn't sound good!

I am heading in your direction but probably won't arrive til maybe mid next week?

Anything I can pick up and bring you along the way though?

I've gotten a few quotes and waiting on a few more but Glen Cochrane goes by that name on the HUBB I presume?

Shipping Vancouver

Greetings. Typing in Glen Cochrane into this site brings up his details. If you address the Brisbane Community attention Glen Cochrane he will pick it up for sure. Looks like he did this in 2006 so his info may be a little dated.

We are heading North today from Smithers.. you may catch us as we travel slow.. Weather is improving... good news.

Cheers and enjoy the ride.

Ken & Carol
