Shipping the bike from Ushuaia (or Valparaiso/Buenos Aires) to Europe

We want to ship our BMW 1150GS to Europe next January or February 2014. Can you help us out with contacts/prices/information? Do you have experience?

Thank you very much.

Dunno if you got any feedback on this but we are looking to ship to Europe in the next few days and are struggling to find anything. Can you let me know how you fared?

Hi there, here are a couple, this one dakar_motos_index in buenos aires, another is Motorcycle Express - Ship Your Bike Contact, Evelyn.

From what I have read on here, it is very difficult to go from Ushuaia, as it is all containers and very expensive, best to try and find someone who has space on a container and ship with them, but you have no control then of when it arrives and read on here that you want to put bikes on yourself if poss so you know they are secure and not just stuff piled on top of bike. Best places are Santiago or buenos aires.

Please let me know how you get on as will be down there in October in the same position as you looking for transport back to UK.

Hope this helps.

Pete.

we ship the bike from Valparaiso with Villa Kunterbunt, German Martina and her chillian husband Enzo was helpful. They know how get the things in time. we had other contacts but couldn't get on time with our flight and time schedule.
Die erste Website für Deine individuelle Fahrzeugverschiffung - Gravel Road Logistics - We ship you out there
villakunterbuntvalpo@yahoo.de

the cost for 2.6 cubic meter was 1800$ with the box, ship, port fees.... and it take 28 days from the port of Valparaiso and the port of Hamburg Germany. Inclusive of the helper in Germany.

the cheapest is to find a container to share. (+or-1200$)

Yeah we've been in touch with them and it seems like the best option at the moment but the bikes not really healthy enough to ride back up. Ludhiana seems impossible to shop from but we will keep trying.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
