Motorcycle transport from Australia to Asia

Hi guys,
we arre looking for a possibility to get the bikes to Singapore or which would be better to Kathmandu/ Nepal. I've searched the hubb but everything I had found was the other way around. So is there anyone who has any experience I bringing a bike to Asia. Origin port would be Brisbane, Sidney or Darwin.
We are not thinking of bringing them to East Timor - should be the last opportunity.

I sent my bike from Brisbane to Bangkok through Qantas. I didn't need to create it. I just turned up a few days before i wanted it to arrived in Bangkok.

You need the following
customs clearance number - you get from the customs office in the city (takes about 2 days)
Dangerous certificate which you get a couple of hours before you drop it off at the airport. You need an address at your destination. I used a random hotel address.
Qantas charged on the weight of the bike rather than the volume - which saved me alot of money.

Try Perkins shipping out of Darwin. Perkins Shipping Group - Home

They have a shipping service every 2-3 weeks leaving Darwin to Singapore. Vert straitforward service.

I used Hellman to ship 2 bikes from Darwin to Singapore in Jan 08. No problems at all. No crating and very quick. Highly reccomended. Perkins Shipping is a lot cheaper, but you might have to wait a week or so for a ship and then it will take another week or so.

What kind of bike was this?
How did they transport it - did they crate it - or do they have special containers for bikes?

Im keen to find out about this - because the volumetric weight pretty much doubles the 'weight' of my bike.
