Container Ushuaia to Los Angeles Calif.

We are trying to find other bikes to join ours in a container in Ushuaia, shipping to Long Beach/Los Angeles California USA.

We will ship when we have four bikes or so. Target date is April 2014

No special prep. Just supply four tie downs. You can leave your bike intact with luggage etc.

We have a great contact in Ushuaia. Osvaldo Lavado. He lives at 548 Fuegio Basket Ushuaia, and you can go to his house.

He charges $250 per bike to store/load arrange everything. Also you will pay a lawyer about $30 per bike as Osvaldo needs a power of attorney for customs papers and etc.

We rode our bikes around until just 5 hours before our flight out of Ushuaia, and left them in a container at Osvaldo's place.

Flights from Ush to many places are expensive. So we just booked a flight to Buenas Aires and then booked again from there to LAX via Mexico City.

Container is $4500. We can take maybe 5 or even 6 in a twenty footer. We are looking for $900 per bike to help share cost.

If you are in a hurry this is not for you. It may take a while to fill and also a while to ship. But it is a great price.

If you have other shipping requirements in Ushuaia be sure and check Osvaldo out. His house is easy to find. Leaving town on Maipu towards the airport at first roundabout Fuegio Basket is a street (right) off the circle. Down street, over yellow bridge, yellow house on left.

Osvaldo

Hi,

I just did a search on HU and see you have posted several times about Osvaldo. No others seem to mention him.

I am planning on shipping my bikes to Ushuaia in Dec and am wondering how you found him/how you know him and any other references you may have.

a little nervous on power of attorney. Would he hire out to help us clear customs but on our own?

Any help appreciated

bryan

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
