Ship car from Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan via China

Hi

Is that anybody had ever crossed Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan via China on their foreign vehicle?

I plan to to Central Asia from Pakistan, but due to political issue in Afghanistan, i think i need to change my route instead of going through Afghanistan, i should go through China to Kyrgyzstan.

As China is not welcoming foreign vehicle, had any one cross the border from Karakoram Highway, Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan via China?

Is not, i plan to land transport my car from Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan via China? ANy recommend shipping agency?

thanks

The other way round

Hi there,

We have just completed that journey in reverse - driving from Kyrgyzstan - China - Pakistan.

You can see how we arranged it, including the guide company via my website

Message Board - China

My advice would be to do the drive in three days, two if you are feeling brave.

We would recommend the agency, but remember they are really government escorts not guides. But they were the cheapest we could find and reliable.

The Pakistan part of the KKH is MUCH MUCH MUCH more fun than the Chinese side, but the road on the Pakistan side is in terrible condition at the moment. The Chinese side is like driving on velvet .....

Good luck

If you manage to contact anyone in China to arrange the shipping, could you please post the contact details here (or PM me)? I am trying to arrange crossing by motorcycle in the opposite direction, but have not been able to get any response whatsoever for the last 3 weeks!

zyztour [zyztour@yahoo.com.cn]

But because of the issues in Urumchi they don't have email or international phones, or didn't 3 weeks ago. He is trying to get in touch with people though and makes periodic trips out of the area to pick up email

Good luck

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
