Buy, Export & Ship from France

Dear All,

Most sincere apologies for slightly random question,.... but I have searched (honest) and I'm not sure where to put the question.

Please feel free to suggest moving the question to a more appropriate place or direct me to other forums.

IN A PERFECT WORLD,

I'd like there to be a company/individual that could help me buy a bike in france for export and ship it to Egypt (where the real nightmare will begin, but I can deal with this end).

OR

Buy in France for export to UK, although the whole type approval homologation special rule stuff scares me a little.

Any suggestions appreciated (without to much abuse )

Cheers

Why you don't buy a bike in UK and ship it to Egypt. Don't know wha ttype of bike you need but Yamaha is a good one Tenere 660 . I know a place they sell them . New or used?
If you ride two up (w/your partner) I will recommed to go with a 1000cc

By the way I am selling my Suzuki Vstrom Dl1000 , 2003 with 40k miles in perfect condition, including panniers and top case (originals) for US$ 5,300 .
I can ship it for you anywhere you want. I do export from Miami.
If you want pictures and info. let me know

Help in France

Thanks Gaston,

However, I know pretty much exactly what bike I want for solo long distance off road desert touring. These very rarely come up in the UK, but can be found in France (Italy/Germany/Spain too).

In my rubbish French I have tried to contact a few sellers, but so far I haven't found answers regarding export, shipping or even if it is possible to buy a bike without an address in France.

Still hoping someone can point me in the right direction, or even suggest where to ask the questions.

Cheers

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
