Russia to Alaska......
 

Anyone shipped a bike from Eastern Russia to Alaska recently? Where did you go from and to and how easy was it? Heard about the ferry from Zarabino to Korea then air freight to Alaska, any idea what this costs and how easy it is? Another alternative may be Russia to Japan, then fly to Alaska, again, has anyone had any experience of this recently? Any help appreciated!!

The ferry from Zarabino no longer operates. There is a ferry from Vladivostok to South Korea run by DBS.

Shipping from Russia to Alsaka would be dealt with by a feeder ship taking your vehicle to South Korea then it would be shipped on from there. Shipping agents in Vladivostock are Transfes who operate on behalf of FESCO but not much (if any) English spoken. You will need a good customs agent to make it easier (can be done without but only if you can speak Russian).

We used Yuri Melnikov - 100% recommend him. He can also advise on shipping from Vlad and arrange containers etc. He speaks good English.
