Shipping vs. Air Frieght cost in BA

I'm planning on shipping my bike by air on LAN Cargo from Miami to Buenos Aires in 20 days and had not budgeted the cost for handling and storage described in another post related to shipping port charges. Can anyone tell me if there will be similar "port" charges with my air freighted motorcycle? Thanks in advance.

Suggestion for all who air freight motos to Buenos Aires

Mr Steam Turbine, my knowledge is very limited regarding the differences between AIRPORT, (air freight) handling/storage/customs etc. "costs" and PORT (sea freight) handling/storage/customs "costs."

I have had several recent reports that Buenos Aires SEAPORT "costs" are expensive when compared to other "SEAPORT" costs in South America. This may or may not have anything to do with AIRPORTT costs. And, I am reporting here only what has been reported to me second hand.

In the past I have referred Foreign Tourists who are air freighting their motorcycles into Buenos Aires to Buenos Aires HUBB community members Javier and Sandra at:

DAKAR MOTOS-HOME OF ´OVER-LAND BIKE´ TRAVEL IN SOUTH AMERICA

I am sure Javier and Sandra can accurately answer your questions regarding air freighting a motorcycle into Buenos Aires. They have helped many foreign tourists clear their motorcycles through customs at the airport in Buenos Aires.

Thanks for the question. Welcome to Argentina, let's get together after you have sorted your bike. Ed and Elisa

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
