perth to thailand

does anyone know the cost or who i would deal with in terms of transporting a bike from perth to thailand and then the return costs aswell , looking at travelling through thailand, cambodia vietnam and laos. probably not the right place to ask, but would it be easier to hire a bike and travel through these countries?

Hi Sleepywombat

Just got this info re Perth to Sing. Might be helpful as a guide. This was for 3 x DR650s. Proposed UK trip in early 09.

We could arrange ocean shipment from Perth to Singapore for £645 per bike and could arrange crating for £165. I have been advised that crating could be cheaper if you organise it with a local dealer in Perth. This price excludes any quarantine charges at any point of the journey. The bikes should be SPOTLESS, free of dirt, soil & grime, back to as new condition detailed thoroughly, or it could cost a small fortune in cleaning fees.
