Perth-Darwin(?Singapore,Malaysia,Thailand?)

Hi Guys
Iam traveling around Australia on my Suzuki Dr 650 and i am currently in Sydney.
From here i plan to ship my bike to perth and travel up the west coast to Darwin. so far it looks like i'll start the journey at the end of June.
I am looking for people who have made simile expiences, who may be abel to give my me some tips of how to best go about it.
And of course i would be interest if anyone is keen to join me for parts or the whole trip. Iam 27 and i have already done about 10,000kms around Australia.
I may even be heading to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand after that.

Unless you´re time-restrained (in which case it would definitely be challenging to try and do SE Asia!) then why ship your bike inside Oz, when you can ride. Shipping costs money, too.

Did Perth-Melbourne-Rockhampton-Brisbane-Sydney 6 years ago. Actually I came from Indonesia, and originally wanted to ship to Darwin, but at that time the rainy season was quite bad up north, so decided to give that a miss, and went Perth instead.

Smile dr650s

Hi, We both ride 650s and re planning to drive up to Darwin with our bikes round july/august then head overland to London.
Happy to help in any way and happy to give you accommodation as well although we are in Victoria.
June is perfect for travelling in Central Australia and North- it is awesome country.
The west coast is beautiful although I haven't ridden it my partner has.
See some great country and head inland via Broken Hill.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
