North America to Europe

Hi,

Has anyone got any recommendations for agents, shipping from N-America to Europe.
I'm pretty flexible for departure points: Montreal, New York, Florida,... or anywhere between. Maybe even Newfoundland.
Same for destination harbour: UK, Holland, Belgium, Germany...

Thanks!
Bjorn

Aladdin Freight website doesn't work. Do they ship from the East Coast as well?
Will look at contacts in the other thread – thanks for the link!

Hi Bjorn,

In Aug 2010 i shipped my bike from Toronto Int airport (Missisigua) to London Heathrow.
I just turned up at the desk of Air Canada at the freight section of the airport. One of the men there had the authority to do a dangerous goods certification (and that saved me from paying a third party approx $120).
Within an hour the paperwork and customs check were done. The bike was then strapped onto a pallet (no need for a crate/box etc, and no neeed to dismantle anything except the extra tall windshield)/
The bike flew out that night and I was able to drive it out of Heathrow airport within 2 hours. Customs import papers were gotten from a nearby customs clearance agaent for approx £80.
Air Canada charged approx $1300 Canadian dollars for shipment.

Hope this helps,
H A

Hi Bjorn

Wallenius Wilhelmsen have regular RoRo service between US and Europe. We used this service from Southampton UK to Baltimore cost around £575 in April 2011. You cannot travel on the ferry yourself but there is no crating, taking wheels off, draining oil etc - the bike is ridden on the boat and off again.

Website is Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics - North America & South America routes

Hi, there´s a german agent specialized in the route Germany North America or the other directions. He´s called Knopf Reisen near Heidelberg Germany. Check out knopftours.com.
Seems to be very reliable and experienced especially because he´s concentrating on no other regions.
regards
Robert

Thanks for all your answers! I'm in touch with Wallenius Willemsen but need to find out if the bike would be classified as "hazardous" or not (for a RoRo boat that is).

Knopftours told me they don't have anything until February.

Has anyone got any experience with these people:
