North Africa
Hi All
I'm planning a trip from London to South Africa. The bike I'm using is not very off-road orientated, so I am planning on shipping my bike from either Turket or Israel to Nairobi. The stories of the Sudan / North Kenya road has me worried... Should be ok from Nairobi going South with if not tarmac most of the way, will be half decent gravel roads... Any ideas on transport???

From Nairobi to Cape Town you can ride on tarmac all the way, but some tarmac roads are worse than gravel ones. Big potholes and works can destroy a bike. Keep your eyes wide open and do not ride at night. Everything will be Ok. Have fun.

By plane to Nairobi, by boat to Mombasa and then ride to Nairobi or going south to Dar es Salaam. I think there is good info about shipping companys in the Hubb.
