Motorbike Shuttle from DE, NL, UK to ROMANIA

Romania, Transsilvania, Carpatian Mountains... a phantastic trip destination... and great for those who have already done the Alps and want to see something new.
For those who'd like to do such a trip but shun the long distance to get there, here's something that may interest you:
There's a small Bucharest-based trucking company that offers bike shuttle services from Germany, Holland, UK to Romania. Bikes get picked up a few days before riders travel by air (cheap flights at wizzair.com among others); their bikes are already there when they arrive and ready to take off.
Same on the way back: drop off bike, fly home - the bike will be brought back to your door a few days later.
Available to individual travellers or to groups (at even better rates).
Their website is currently not up, so send me PM if you are interested...

Definitely interested.
I was going to get the shuttle train from Belgium to Slovenia in July this year, so that i could get to Romania faster, cheaper, and with less effort.

Definitely provide ALL details for this please

Anyone tried already?

Has anyone tried that service already?

I'm very interested but, I hate the very idea of handing in my bike to a stranger doing business with a truck and without a website. The little transit time is enough for a stroke! References would be great please.

Me too

I'm looking to explore some more next summer. Did a 5,000km round trip from NL last year, and it wasn't a whole lot of fun getting there. Shipping bike and then flying in sounds great. The countryside and scenery is fantastic. I don't have enough posts to PM, so can you (or anyone else) please send me the details too? Thanks

Let me bring this one up again.
As in previous years, a friend of mine who runs a small trucking business in Romania offers bike shuttles to there.
We can do point-to-point bike shuttle services, single bikes or groups.
Easiest is into Bucharest as there are cheap flights to there, and we have a safe unloading point for the bikes, could pick you up from the airport... but other destinations possible as well.
Prices obviously vary depending on size and number of bikes, season and destination, and of course if you want to do it one way or go and return.
If interested e-Mail me at wbethke1@gmail.com for details please.
Cheers,

Werner

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
