Greetings from Izmir, Turkey.

There is a regular ferry line between Brindisi and Cesme (Izmir) which is a direct one. Or you can find many alternative indirect ones from Italy to Greece, and from Greece to Turkey, from that island to that island in the Aegean sea. You can come either to Bodrum, to Marmaris, to Kusadasi, or to Cesme by using different alternatives.

Hi Edde,

We tried to ferry it from Italy to Turkey last December and found out that all ferries between Italy and Turkey are seasonal, don't run over winter and seem to start up in May. It could have all changed over the last three months but I think if you want to take a ferry you will have to island hop through Greece. Not a bad thing at all as scenery and riding are fantastic. We did some research and the best route we came up with for winter season was a ferry from Venice to Italy (2 a week), Then from the bottom of Peloponese to Crete, Crete to Rhodes and Rhodes to Marmaris (2 a week). All were reasonably priced apart from the one to Marmaris which takes only three hours and cost near as much as Venice to Greece!

Hope that helps. Cheers

Richard

Richard is right about the seasonal direct ferries between Italy and Turkey. Check Turkish Erturk Ferry Lines website: ERTÜRK LINES which provides information about their services between Greece and Turkey. If you can make it from Italy (Brindisi or another departure point) to Chios. You can see Cesme from the island and there seems to be ferry services everyday.

hi,

in addition to other links, you can also try the link below:

ML Marmara Lines: Les car-ferries rapides entre l'Italie et la Turquie

also, if you have time, you can take the italy-greece ferries (Greek Ferries, tickets on ferry routes Italy-Greece-Italy and Greek ISlands) and then ride to turkiye.

greece is as good as turkiye for biking.

enjoy.

Shipping into Turkey

hey,

I'm trying to ship from Japan to Turkey and I'm looking for a customs agent to clear the bike in Istanbul.

Any body know any good cheap ones. I seem to be getting huge quotations from people I have found through the internet.

Any advice welcome.
