is ferry from egypt to greece!

From Egypt is only one cargo-ferry "Nissos Kypros" -Salamis lines: www.ferries.gr/salamis.
Each monday /check it!!/ at 7-7.30pm from Port Said next Cyprus-Rhodos-Pireus after 3 night.

very important!
the price is the same from Port Said like from Haifa to Pireus.
is ONLY one ferry /cargo and passangers/ from Port Said to Pireus.
from Aleksandria is no ferry to Greece.
manu people talkig to us about many ferries to Greece -it was a lot of rubbish!

you buy ticket only by Aswan agent Muhamed Said phone 0020123474585.
I pay for 2pers. and moto. 300$ oneway.

and don't belive anybody who promises to take you to cargo ship for a little money!

I wast for this info. f..g 7 days in PSaid!!

Hi Gregor

Glad you made it safely in the end.

Port Said is new on this route since end of April, as there definitely were no ferries between Egypt and anywhere in Europe earlier in the year. The NISSOS KYPROS previously only went to Israel.

Looks like this route may only be until end of October 2001, so take note, travellers!

Good luck and safe travels!

Having recently rechecked the Salamis lines website, I can advise that between 26 Apri and 31 October the Nissos Kypros runs from Piraeus, Patmos or Rhodes in Greece, or Limassol in Cyprus to Port Said in Egypt.

But, during the winter season, this ferry only runs to Haifa in Israel, NOT to Egypt. Here's the link: http://www.ferries.gr/salamis/

So, plan your trips accordingly!

Be careful travellers,

the ferry line has been affected by the current political situation in Middle East. Double check with the travel agent that the route is still valid.

This connection has been temporary recalled 05 April 02 until further notice. Check on the mentioned url for contact details.

According to their website, their service is still suspended. http://www.ferries.gr/salamis/

A good source of info on ferry service across the Med is Viamare, based in London. Contact numbers, including e-mail, are at this link:

http://www.viamare.com/destinations.html

Good luck and let us know how you go!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
