Japan-Korea one-way possible with bike?
Hi, we plan to ship 2 of us and 2 bikes from Shimonoseki (or Hakata) to Busan on 1 July. Has anybody recently managed to persuade the ferry companies to sell a one-way ticket? They insist on their websites and by phone you must buy a return ticket despite the fact we have UK registered bikes, carnets and will not be coming back to Japan.
I saw Onno's post that he managed to do it via a travel agent in Kobe with a car but dont know when he did it and he said it took a lot of phone calls and 7 visits to the agent! So my question is, has anybody gone to the port direct and managed to buy a one-way ticket? I contacted Wendy Choi in Seoul and she could not help with this problem. If we buy a return, can we get a refund in Busan for the unused portion?

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
