Smile San Francisco to Chile

Hi,
I'm about to ship a car from San Francisco to Chile, probably Valparaiso in the next few weeks/months. Anybody got experience to share? Recommendations for companies, other thoughts? I know there is RORO and container. We can share a container with your bikes.

Hi Andy
When exactly are you planning to ship? Long story but i'm a kiwi living in Bolivia and looking to buy a bike in USA and ship down to South America. Chile would be just fine for me. Any idea of cost? Thanks

San Francisco to Chile

Hello Andy and Cory,

I live just north (100 miles) of San Francisco and am looking into shipping either my KLR650 or my Vstrom 650 down to South America for a 3-4 month tour at the end of November or beginning of December. I would be interested in splitting the shipping costs of a container with you guys in our schedules mesh.

Also Cory I could help with bike purchase, pick-up, and transport unless you have that already sorted. I would be open to the idea of selling either bike after my trip is over, in Lew of having to ship it back to the states

Let me know if any of this sound appealing to you guys.

Cheers

Matt Elke

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your offer. I wasn't able to PM you back as i haven't posted enough times but i'd love to discuss your offer to help with bike puchase etc some more. For example, i'm unsure how i can purchase in the USA without residency or even an address! Would it be possible for you to email me? I think you can just click my username to allow that.

Thanks in advance
Cory

Hey, what city do you live in?

I live here as well, I'm curious what the benefits are of shipping a bike from the USA? I heard it can be really difficult to register once it's here.

Cheers
