Europe - North America 2014 container

May be it is too early, but we are beginning get ready for our journey. We are looking for people who are interested in sharing container in may - august of 2014. I am beginner in sea freight, but will try my best in shipping our two Suzuki Dr's to North America. So, if smbd is interested, please welcome. It does not matter for us which outgoing port to leave from Europe, cause Europe is so small we can ride wherever we want. Port of destination NY, Toronto, Halifax or smth on East cost of Americas.

Somebody with past experience of shipping their bikes by sea would be nice to join you or get a piece of advice.

Thank you very much for the contact! I will send him an e-mail)

Unfortunately, Mr Knopf said that there would be only one container from Germany to USA and it would be at December of 2013 the price is really good, but there would be snowy at December, so we would not be able to ride bikes to Germany to send them to USA...

So we are open for other options...

I might be interested depending on the price. Maybe you can ship from Antwerp or Zeebrugge.

Not sure who you talked with.
Stefan has 5 bikes ready to ship ( ours included) to Vancouver 2nd week of Oct 2013. Needs one more for best pricing.

PM me back and I will confirm the stuff. Bike needs to be in Heidelberg in early Oct.
Stefan has tentative pricing, firm pricing closer to date.
You can't do better and with a better person.

Also he can store the bike for you before shipping it if you are worried about snow in December but the Vancouver destination gets you closer to Alaska if that's where you are headed.

Here is the link to his web page http://www.knopftours.com/Web-Site/Transport.html

Thank you for your attention. I e-mailed Stefan and I really don't know who gave me that info, but we now already begin to think about buying bikes in USA, cause all this headache with sending and bringing bikes back to Europe seems to be nervous procedure. But I am opened for all options, the only thing that we would like to start at autumn of 2014 because of our jobs.

I shipped my bike from bremerhaven to halifax with wallenius willemsen, they also made a stop in zeebrugge. I did it with olaf klein in hamburg but next time i will try to contact the wallenius willemsen without an extra person/compagny in between. Costs including insurance where about 2600 euro, roll on roll of. Best way is to find shippers who do shared containers, only thing is you are not sure when its gonna shipped. Pm me if you want some addresses and more info. I did the same search last year and have lots of info, even in Dutch if you prefer
Kind regards
Albert
