Euro trip dilema

Firstly, thank you to Kaer for pointing me to this beaut site!!!
Can anyone answer a few questions?
Will travel to Europe with my daughter mid 2006 or around November.
Leaving Australia, point of arrival would possibly be France, I speak a few European languages being a tour operator in Oz.
I would like to purchase a bike in Europe possibly a BMW RS what would be required and be involved in bringing it back to Oz ???? regarding paper work and cost can anyone help??
Thank you all.
John

As I understand it
1) If the bike is over 15 years old - fairly easy to bring it in.

2) If you have the bike overseas for a year or more, mild problems bring it in

3) otherwise.. too much work to be worth it.

For starters see

Do you want to ride the bike in Europe, or just buy it to take home? The latter is probably not worth it and the former not that much fun starting in November.
