Ethiopia or Kenya to South Africa, CHEAP
 

Hello,

I have just been refused entry into Egypt and so i now must head back into Sudan then Ethiop or Kenya from where i want to ship home to South Africa.
Can anybody advise me on CHEAP airfreight or shipping companies in either of these countries?

go to port sudan, put your bike in a crate to durban or cape town and spend some time diving with Rosie on Vanessa Condon.
ethiopian irlines will probably want about 4-6 USD per kg to fly the bike, but remember you have to pack it really small or pay by volume which is usually calculated as 167kg per metre-cube
as for your other mention of fake carnets ... don't try it, mate, or you could lose the bike and spend longer than you want in the country. get yourself a proper carnet and enjoy the normal bureaucracy! if you want to see the consequence of trying to beat Egyptian bureaucracy, go kick the tyres on all the imppounded porsches and lambourghinis at Cairo airport customs ... its a travesty!
