Is it easier to customs clear a bike in Brazil instead of Argentina?

A few of us are heading to South America in October and up until now have been planning to ship our bikes to Argentina, but have heard much talk about the complexed port customs clearance and extra costs involved.

Does anyone have experience in shipping to Brazil, what the costs are and how complexed the port clearing process is?

Will it be cheaper and or easier to ship to Brazil?

Any help of advise would be very much appreciated.

no, I dont think it is easier/cheaper to ship your bike to Brazil.

go for Argentina (BsAs) or Chile, maybe to Uruguay.

Search on the website for people that shiped into Brazil.

Other suggestions, or expieriences from somebody else here on the HUBB ??

suerte

I would consider shipping into Montevideo. International port but not massive, less taxes than BsAs, and only a short distance from either Brasil or Argentina, depending on which way you want to go.
I shipped out of there last year, look up my shipment (Uruguay to USA) in the shipping section for emails, contacts, etc...
