Delivering a Canadian bike to the USA but not being there to receive it?
 

Hi all, just have a little question. I am completing my trip from Alaska to Patagonia in the next 6 weeks and thinking of shipping my bike to my boyfriend in Settle, if I can't sell it! But the problem may lie in that it is a Canadian bike, registered in my name, and I will not be in the USA to receive it. I am currently in the process of working on a working visa but wont be allowed in the country for a few months I am guessing!

Dakar motors say they can ship it in his name, but not sure of the complications at the other end.

Any advice? I guess it is the same as someone shipping a bike to a receiver with a temporary import. As I am not a resident I should not have to permanently import it yet.

Ended up selling in Punta Arenas in the free trade zone legally. Much less hassles.
