Cost of shipping Ural or Sidecar

Trying to get an idea of prices sinces Urals and sidecars are a bit heavier and bulkier than a normal bike.

Anyone who has shipped a Ural or Sidecar, I'd appreciate a quick note with the from/to, price, and sea/air.

Thanks!

Horst Ullrich sidecar from Hamburg to Valparaiso / Santiago de chile with Hamburg Sud approx. 1070euros
but: heading back is by far much more expensive - I'm still looking for cheap ways: offers start at 1700euros!

You must do it ocean shipping. By air your volume would be 10 cubic meters or close. air shipping convert the volume to weight, which would be around 1,600 kilograms and charged by kilo/vol.

From the US to Chile is about the same cost by ocean US$1,600. We shipped a BMW1200 with a side car (10 cbm approx.)

I shipped from Orlando, USA to Jakarta, Indonesia by air. Total cost was USD $3700

Full report is here:

I packed it pretty tight and the dimensions of the crate were:
(L x W x H) 89” x 52” x 47”
125.9 cubic feet, 3.56 cubic meters

If I did this again I may put the sidecar in a separate box. It would probably take more overall space (two shoes in one box takes less space than each show in it's own box, ya know) but the motorcycle ships as hazardous cargo (at an increased price) and when the sidecar is with it then the whole volume/weight is one big hazmat package. But the sidecar by itself would not be hazmat.

If you ship ocean the bike won't be a HAZMAT if you empty the gas tank and disconnect the battery.
Air shipping is always a Hazmat or Dangerus Good
