bill of lading trouble
 

I am picking up my bike in Callao / peru soon. I have not done this before.

Customs in peru are not helping at all in telling me what to do.

Can you tell me what happens at the docks. What do I do first. Get to my crate, go to customs...? Please tell me what happens to you in south america!?!

Always (everywhere in the world) just go to the docks and ask for your bike first - they will tell you what you need to have in order to get it, and they will probably supply you with the papers you need from them to give to customs, if any.

Relax, take your time, smile a lot, be friendly - and be prepared for a long process. You might get lucky and be out in 20 minutes, or it could take a couple of days - be prepared.
