Bike, 2up, Germany - Thailand, by air

Hello, 3 days ago we made the decission, quit the job and now live in excel tables for a start, we plan to go Mid October, so not much time left. Bike is ready (AT_RD07, 93, 75% done), Carnet should not be a problem..., 6-8 month time.

Route planned: Germany - Thailand - Laos - Kambodia - Thailand - Malysia - New Zealand - Australia - Germany. (Flight)

I tried the search but could not find much for starting in Gemany, no bikers in Germany which go out for longer than a weekend?

1. First things first: Transporting the bike (and us) from Germany to Bangkok by Air (Sea takes to long) at/arround Mid October.
Any ideas?

2. Going from SE Asia (Sowhere south, maybe Kuala Lumpur, but not necesssairy) to New Zealand.

3. Going from New Zealand to Australia

4. Australia to Germany

Any ideas???

It´s quite a lot at the moment to consider, but we will make it as well thx to this webpage! Can´t sleep already .... going mad ....

Have you considered buying a bike in Thailand? the Honda 125 Wave is available everywhere you are planning to visit for probably less than the price of flying your own bike to and from Asia, they are very reliable and perfectly suitable for traffic conditions you will encounter, it would make life simpler and your travel insurance will be a lot cheaper.
You will not have any problem meeting other German motorcyclist once on the road, they are everywhere!

When you want to be mid october in Bangkok, shipping is an option and cheaper. ( abpout 1 month).

Last year We shipped (seafreight)from Rotterdam to Port Kelang, Malaysia and rode 5 month in SE Asia.
We used "baggage.nl" on Amsterdam Airport, check their website for price indication. They are based at Schiphol but seafreight is forwarded to Rotterdam.
Check with DB Schenker in germany. Offices in Germany and Thailand. Not necessary to ship to BKK. Schenker Chiang Mai is a good option. Trucking from BKK to Chiang Mai not expensive. When Schenker Germany says "impossible"let then mail Schenker Chiang Mai (mrs Noppakao Dee-Inn)

Mid october is still early for North Laos (Bad slippery roads)
Thailand and Malaysia roads perfect bitumen. Cambodia all roads connecting major places, good bitumen. Laos North of Luang Prabang not good.
North Thailand wonderful biking and Chiang Mai is way more relaxt than Bangkok.
Caution: Bikes in Bangkok not allowed on expressways so you need or a good map or GPS to navigate in town.

Back from Australia is Wallenius Wilhelmsen roro service an option. Check their bwebsite.

125cc is not an option and anyway my bike, wife and me are one family. Thx. That the Germans are there everywhere is frigthening Haven´t been in Germany for a loooong time...

thx for the tips, maybe I will get an offer from them. I dont know if I can be without my bike for one Month I have a lot of things to do and thats my only way of transport at the moment. But we´ll think about it.

Great tips for the weather and road conditions, we can not tell when we are where except we thought till now that we start in BKK, but we are open for anything.
