Australia to Africa shipping vehicle
Hello
In planning a future trip I need to know advice on the following possible shipping routes for a 4WD: 1) Australia (prefer west coast but can be east coast) to Sth Africa 2) Australia to Kenya 3) Australia to India 4) Australia to Suez Canal or Horn of Africa Sounds like a lot but really I am happy to do my own research. I just wanted to get an idea if anyone knows whether these routes exist. Any websites for Australian based shipping companies? Thanks Mel ------------------ http://www.on2anotheradventure.com

Hi Mel
For shipping by sea, we strongly recommend dealing with an international shipping company who are more likely to have local staff and have organized processes. Several companies have been recommended by travellers. In no particular order, they are: Hellman Worldwide Logistics have offices throughout Australia, including Melbourne. See the following link for contact details: Panalpina is also international, and has an office in Melbourne. Panalpina World Transport Pty. Ltd. 16 Tarmac Drive Tullamarine Victoria 3043 Australia +61 3 93390444 tel +61 3 93385850 fax +61 3 93303630 fax Their website is: http://www.panalpina.com And finally, Wallenius Wilhelmsen also has offices in Australia, including Melbourne. Melbourne Wallenius Wilhelmsen P O Box 1234 Market Street SOUTH MELBOURNE 3205 AUSTRALIA Tel: +61 3 9696 0944 Fax: +61 3 9696 0940 Their website is: http://www.2wglobal.com/Applications...archOffice.jsp Good luck with your trip, and keep in touch. Don't forget there is a lot of info on this site to help you plan your trip. Check out the Sahara Forum, which has a lot of info for 4WD travellers, and also the 4WD Travel Forum for non-Sahara subjects and technical discussions. ------------------ Susan Johnson "It matters not what goal you seek Its secret here reposes: You've got to dig from week to week To get Results or Roses."
