Approx size of crate

Can anyone give me the approx size of a crate for a BMW F650 GS Dakar. I would rather keep the front wheel ON! Does unscrewing the handle bars make a big difference? Will not drain front brakes!

Many Thanks

Andrew

I packed my ktm950 in 200x120x80cm It could have been a lot smaller but this was 'easy' with just the front wheel out and bar +boxes off.

leaving the wheel in will cost a lot more becouse it will be a lot higher.

Dimensions for a Dakas are approx 2200 in len 910 in width 1490 in height.

Depending on the way you are going to freight/ship I would consider you drop the from wheel out as sometimes you dont just pay on gross weight but volumme weight as well, whichever is greater in most cases.

After shipping the XJR, only the mirrors had to be dropped, to the states in a BMW crate, I'd suggest going to your nearest BMW dealer and blagging one off them.

size matters!!

I have crated my F650GS in a crate aprrox
1,9 m x 0,8 m x 1,2 m (removed front wheel, handlebars, windscreen)
this is about the smallest you can get without too much hassle,
spend half summer messuring and trying

happy travels

Removing handlebars

When we crated from australia we undid the handlebars but did not remove them as this would involve draining the brake fluid. Am I correct or am I missing something?
