Anyone shipped from Brasil to USA or Canada?

I´m thinking about shipping my bike back to Toronto from either Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro next month. There is no recent shipping info from Brasil I could find on the transport page. Varig was listed a few years ago but has since gone bankrupt so I´m not sure about their current status.
I´m making inquiries here but with poor Portuguese language skills, I´m struggling. Anyone with info or contacts?
Many thanks.

Contact the Communities, they should be able to help, if not in advance, at least once you're there.

DO post your result in the Shipping Database when done to help others in the same boat!

thanks,

I am Brazilian but I live in Calgary... I might be able to help you, what do you need, air or sea freight? when? I would guess if it is sea freight from Santos, SP should be the best price... from air Sao Paulo would be your best option. I have some friends on the shipping business and they might be able to help you.

Shipping to Canada or US from Brasil

Thanks for the reply. I have a Brasilian friend in Toronto who has put me in contact with a person at Air Canada cargo. They will ship the bike to Toronto but I need to use a agent or freight forwarder. I´m waitng for a recommendation on who to contact about that. No prices yet but I from all the reports I have read about sea transport it is not the best or lowest cost option.
I´m also going to look into Varig into Miami or Chicago. I understand they will deal with you directly and can be very helpful. Stay-tuned! Btw, if you are ever in Toronto let me know and we can have a cerveja.

Not a problem, please let us know how it all go, I might want to go down to Brazil to do some riding someday...

As for the cerveja, see you in July... I will be going across Canada and I will stop in Toronto for sure... have some friends there too.

I will PM you when I am leaving Cowntown... aka Calgary... LOL

Shipping Brasil to Canada

Thought I should post an update - I will do a complete report once shipping is complete. Air Canada would ship the bike but I was not able to find a freight forwarder that would deal with an individual (vs a company) or would not require that I put the bike in a crate!
Consequently I contacted Varig and they were very helpful and easy to deal with. They do not fly to Canada so my bike is on it´s way to New York where I will meet it and ride to Toronto from there.
