Anyone recommend a website that sells refundable airtickets?

I have searched high and low on Aussie sites.... need a ticket booking India to Australia, that I can refund so that i can wave it around to get myself into Thailand, India etc... Anyone recommend a good site that has refundable tickets?

I was under the impression that all first class tickets are refundable. Buying a first class exit ticket (to be cashed in later) is a tried and tested way of obtaining proof of exit for countries that demand such.

So just go to a travel agency and ask....

I have much the same impression but I think it applies to any "full price" ticket i.e. that has not been discounted or limited to certain flights/times of year or whatever.

As said here, get the travel agent to do the leg work for you; if you have to go online, then check the small print for get out clauses etc - make sure that you understand the terms and conditions of the ticketing.

An alternative I've been tinking of is a 'around the world' ticket

Gets you out of OZ .. and back the long way (wneh ever you need it) .. and provides (hopefully) proof of onwards travell when required.

Any comments on this method? It would be not much different money wise from buying two single (non return) tickes to/from OZ.
