ship 4x4 by air from Cabinda to Luanda (Angola)

Hi
We are travelling through Africa and we'll be in Gabon in a couple of days
I heard about the possibility to go to Cabinda and then take a military cargo air flight to Luanda in Angola.
Is there someone that have more details ?
It will be nice for us
Thanks in advance

Check around to see if TransAfrik has any flights with their Hercules (L-382) heading back from Cabinda to Luanda - if there's space on the plane, you can negotiate directly with the crew - straight cash, no receipts. Just drive the thing on board and stay in it till you drive it off.

I doubt if you will have to worry about DGR forms or any other formalities like that, the only paper anyone will be concerned about is the green stuff.

Hi
Me again travelling, just to say Flying with the car from Cabinda to Luanda is possible. Quite hard but we made it the 1st of May after waiting for 4 days at the military airport.
So there are several cargo flight per day but with small planes. You have to wait for a big antonov and there are about 2 or 3 flight per week and they never know when it comes. You just have to go to the airport. On the left side, there's the military base. You just tell that you want to see the commandant who only speak portuguese. You have to bargain for the price. We paid 540 Euros for the flight with us in the car ! but one hour after we were in Luanda and it was a great experience ! If you have a big car may be it's not possible Our Toyota HZJ78 pass just inside and ea had to take out the tyres from the roof
Bye

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
