Great shipping agent in Bangkok. Daylight robbery in Southampton

Try this guy. We sent our bikes by sea from Bangkok to UK in March.

Nithipat Kongkatong
Fair & Easy Co., Ltd.
Bangkok / Thailand
Phone : +66-2-651-6800
Fax : +66-2-651-6802
Mobile: +66-81-422-4995
Website: www.fairandeasy.co.th/logistics

Email: nithipat@fairandeasy.co.th

He speaks good English (though sometimes a little difficult to understand on the phone), is always available on his mobile if not in the office, answers emails, gives you an itemised quotation, answers your questions if you don't understand something, is endlessly patient, deals with the customs for you (make sure you have your "Simplified Export Document" from Thai customs or you'll have problems!) etc etc. He arranges the crating as well. Crate was good and cut almost to our exact specifications. Final invoice was as per the quotation. Ship left on time and arrived on schedule. We had no problems with customs despite dire warnings about sending stuff by sea from Bangkok.

2 bikes in one crate cost us about £800.00 including the crate.

We cannot recommend him highly enough! And he's nice and friendly!
Decent offices in centre of Bangkok easy to find. Nithipat also does air freight.

I did a LOT of research on this one from inside Thailand:

Joy at Sita (used by others in the past) "does not do email" so you cannot get anything in writing from her.

Schenkers were absolutely useless and after two weeks produced a one line quotation that was a lot more expensive.

None of the others answered phones or emails.... Nithipat was recommended to us by Philip at Riders Corner in Chiang Mai.

The only bummer was the £281 we got screwed by the agent in Southampton for transporting our crate in the container 10km to their warehouse in Eastleigh as you are not allowed to take the crate at the port. Unbelievable. They also wanted £150 to do customs for us - but we managed to do that ourselves with a considerable amount of aggro.

Say hi to Nithipat from Sheonagh and Pat!

I'll put all this on the shipping page when it gets fixed

Good luck!

Hi Sheonagh and Pat

Thanks for your recommendation.
I'm already in contact with the guy. He promised me to come over with some quotations.
Let's see how much it will cost.

Thanks again
Roland

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
