4 Bikes to South America - Callao / Lima-Arica-Valpo?
 
Hi folks,

we are planing a five week trip to Peru-Bolivia-Chile from mid of may 2007 till end of june.

Maybe someone has a good advice where to ship the bikes to. We are thinking about a container to e.g. Callao / Lima for 4 motorbikes to get to SA, and then leaving Southamerica from Valpo or Arica (or completely the other way round).

What do you think? How difficult is it to enter in / leave from Callao (paperwork and so on)?

Or would it be recommended to make a roundtrip (e.g. Arica-BOL-PERU-Arica) because of the limited time of five(six) weeks?

Most people are getting quotes of more than $2000 per bike. You could rent for probably $35/day. Much cheaper/less hassle. Let us know how you do. Costs details?
