Which countries require a Carnet
 

Hi guys 36 days to go and just got the Holy Grail of travel documents.... the carnet....
We are going thru Europe Ukraine Russia and Central Asia.
The list on the back of the carnet doesn't mention them but is it best to have it stamped in and out of every country.

It seems that if you use the carnet even when it's not necessary, you are just setting yourself up for more needless liability if something were to happen to your bike in one of those countries.

Don't use the carnet in Russia or Central Asia.
I had a friend who had a carnet stamped in Russia, and it took a week + "fees" to get out again.

You don't need a carnet in central Asia, at least not in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan

Nice one guys, thanks for the advice on where carnets are Not needed....call me dumb but would you say, only present it if youre asked for it?? These border crossings are going to be so much fun !!!??%$£!
