Visa for PAkistan
Hi,
I'm planning to ride from southern Germany to Nepal starting in August (returning summer next year) and need a visa for Pakistan. I phoned the Consulate in Frankfurt where I need to apply (I'm a British citizen but have been resident in Germany for the last few years). The gentleman there told me that I have to provide a detailed plan of my route with names and phone numbers of hotels etc. Clearly that is not possible when travelling on a bike - I figured that I would use Lonely Planet/ Rough Guide to get some addresses of potential hotels on my potential route and phrase it carefully to give the impression that it is all organised without directly telling untruths. Does anyone have any experience with this approach with the Consulate in Frankfurt (or anywhere else for that matter)? Are they likely to check or is this just a formality? I'd much appreciate any input/ advice that anyone can offer. Cheers Chris p.s. any suggestion of where to get health insurance would also be much appreciated! |

I told them in Glasgow that I was planning to fly into Lahore, stay there for a bit, and then fly out of Lahore. (I think it was Lahore, any city with an airport will do!) You don't have to turn up at the point of entry you put in your visa application.
Look in your guidebook for a suitable hotel and tell them you are planning to stay there. Matt

I have lived in France for the past 7 years and got an agency in the UK to get my Pakistan visa last year. No probs at all. Insurance... I used World Nomads and made a claim. Again, no probs. John
