UAE-Istanbul-Europe: paperwork and plates
Hi fellow Hubbers,
We are leaving Dubai for good. We will fly our bike to Istanbul and drive from there to Europe (our home destination Belgium). Since we don`t need a Carnet we are not certain of which plates we need. Do we need export plates? Or can we drive with our UAE plates to our home and register our bike in Belgium after our trip? How long can we drive with the export plates? With the UAE plates? FOR TURKEY.
For customs formalities, 1-buy Turkish insurance first.(If your green insurance doesnt cover Turkey) 2-pay airport warehouse and land service expenses..dont keep your bike there longer as expenses for each day is high. 3-get your crate inspected. 4-and finally have your bike stamped on your passport page. 5-if you cant fix and make maintaince for road at the port,transfer your bike to our club garage.all tools,friendly advices,welcome drinks available for bikers..just 11 km.from İstanbul airport customs..Many bikers have already preferred this solution.. 6-Buy green insurance for E.U. at the bordergate you will exit Turkey if you dont have.Then no more formalities to do more until Belgim. 7-If you cant do all yourself and need assistance,contact us.
