travel insurance for old bike
 

Hello ,

I will leave from italy to samarkad at the end of this month, and still I don't have a medical /travel insurance.

To my knowledge there are no italian companies that cover this kind of trip, I tried europassistance, and they don't cover bike older that ten years. Since my bike is an honda xl 600 lm I don't know what to do.

What can I do?

Vehicle insurance (third party insurance) should cover the personal and material damage to others, that you may cause. And travel insurance should usually be for yourself, if you get injured or sick, and possibly your luggage, camera, laptop, etc.

So if you travel with a vehicle, I believe you should have at least these two, and it is my understanding, that they will be two separate policies (Someone please correct if I´m wrong). In the EU, very few insurance companies offer to insure vehicles at all, in case they are taken outside the Green Card zone.

And BTW, it´s also worth checking, that your travel insurance will cover riding motorcycle of the size that you have.
