Are there likely to be any problems extending a visa in Khartoum?

Hi everyone,

Is it relatively straightforward to extend a visa in Khartoum?

We are from the UK and have just picked up our Sudanese visas in Nairobi. They are stated to be for two weeks with a validity period of two months. I am not sure if this means we have to exit Sudan by the end of the validity period or just enter by that date (the only person available at the Embassy when we collected them wasn't sure).

To get through Sudan by the end of the two months we would have to curtail our plans for Kenya and Ethiopia which we could do but if it is practically a given an extension will be granted we could just enter Sudan a few days before the visa expired, go to Khartoum and then extend for a few weeks.

As we have to exit via the Aswan ferry we will have a problem if they won't extend as we won't be able to return to Ethiopia because of the visa situation.

We'd be grateful for any advice.

You have to get to Sudan within 2 months, then your visa is valid for 2 weeks from the date you enter.

I've no idea about extensions.
