THE WANDERER Getting insurance for the USA

I am just about to ride into the states, up to Canada and Alaska and back down into the states for a six month stay and travel period, where and what sort of insurance do I need to buy before I get there, some tell me it is only liability insurance you need.
Any advice would be good, I will be crossing in Tijuana some time next week

:thumbup1:Hi Peter, I crossed into the US from Mexico about a week ago heading for Alaska. A friendly Mexican with an address in the US, Joe, the manager of the Belmar hotel in old Mazatlan, allowed me to use his address and get my insurance from Progressive over the internet, it was very quick and you can print off the document that you must carry and produce if stopped, 12 months worth comes to just under US$100.00 for the basic "third party". Drop me a PM when you start to head up the US if you fancy a beer, a word of warning, I'm in Flagstaff AZ at the moment and the snow stopped last night, it's clear now but still bloody cold but at least it's now on the + side. Ride safe.

Thanks Mike.
Do you need an american address for the insurance and do you have the email address of the Progessive office.
Hopefully may be able to catch up with you.
Peter
