South America trip
 

Hey guys,

Has anyone here taken a trip: starting in the USA, having their bike shipped to South America, flying down to meet it, and then riding throughout the continent? I have a handfull of questions about this kind of adventure, and I haven't been able to find many clear, concise answers on a lot of other websites. So, if someone here has done this, please reply and/or send me an e-mail--I'd really like to trade an e-mail or two with you and ask you about your travel experience.

Start by looking at "Shipments by Travelers", to the left of this post. What countries are you planning on shipping from and to?

We have shipped out from Europe to South America. It doesn't really matter from the bike is coming from - you just need to decide if you are sea freight or air freighting the bike there, then make sure you get there about the time the bike arrives to avoid paying loads of storage charges.

After that, what excatly do you need to know - South America is a huge continent, loads of extremes, fantastic to ride in, best place in the world. Have been there many times now, never had problems that can't be resolved, always had fun and will be going back there this year.
