South Africans - visa information - Africa

Hello,

I'm struggling to find information on visa requirements & costs for South Africans. Easy to find UK info but not SA and I have both passports.

And if you had the choice, which passport would you travel on? And how easy is it to just swap about?

Travelling Middle East and East Africa. Does anyone know of a source of such info or have some information already?

Very basically the countries in question are Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya & south to SA.

Many thanks.
Sandi

Turkey: You don't need one if you're flying in, call one of the Ldn based backpacker companies such as Wanderers World or Backpackers for confirmation.
Syria,Jordan: No idea
Egypt:Aplied in Ldn, visa received overnight - 3 months (but cancelled at the border and reduced to 1 week)
Sudan and Ethiopia:applied in Cairo, received overnight, I think they were 100us each
Kenya: free to saffers, stamp and go at border
Uganda: 20us, stamp and go at border
Tanzania: 20/50us, cant remember, stamp and go at border

After that, you're in neighbouring territories so now worries.

Just remember that my information is now over 2 years old though (what a depressing thought) Oh well, guess I'll have to plan another trip then : )

Geoff
