Source for vehicle import duties?

I am trying to figure out the cheapest country to unload a motorcycle in SE Asia.

Anyone know where I can find information on vehicle import duties for various countries? I have already asked the AA here in South Africa, and they don't have any information.

thanks,

peter

Try the department of the Auto Association that issues 'carnet de passage'. They must know the duty rates for various countries, as they have to calculate the carnet value based on your bike's value and the countries which you plan to visit.

If you are American, and the bike is American, the Canadian Auto Assocation can give you this information, probably by e-mail.
